Creating, Deleting & Managing Players

The Player Manager

You create and manage your players (or, screen names) through the Player Manager. The Player Manager displays all of your screen names along with the Real World bankroll, VIP points, date created and total time played for each. You can access the Player Manager from the slot, table games, poker, and tournament lobbies. (You can view your level, bankroll totals and VIP point total from your player information pop-up which is accessible by hitting the I key.)

The first time you login to the online game, you will need to create a player.   You do this on the Player Creator screen. The only required field (as denoted with the * symbol) is your character name (or Player ID). All other information is optional. Any information you fill out in this section will be viewable by other players when they click on your player icon in the game.  When you are done filling out your information, click "Submit". When you submit this information to the server, the server will either grant you your proposed character name, or have you choose another one if it is already taken.

You can create more than one player (a.k.a. screen name) if you want to. To create a new player, click New Player and fill out the Player Creator form as before.

You can also delete any of the players you created. To delete a player, highlight the player you want to delete, then click "Delete Player". You will need to confirm the deletion by clicking "Delete" when prompted by the dialog box. When you delete a character, you are deleting the character from the database and it is not recoverable, so make sure you are ready to delete a character forever when doing this.

In the Player Manager you can also select icons to display with your nameplate. Look at the nameplate at the top right corner of the Player Manager. The circle to the right of it is where your icon is displayed. This icon is displayed for you to see when you are in a lobby but it is also displayed for other players to see when you are playing a table game. You can purchase frames for your icon from the frame store hi the mall called "I've Been Framed!" which is then used to display awards you have won during game play.

To select an icon for your player, highlight the desired player, then scroll through the selection of icons provided at the bottom of the screen. When you find the one you want to use, click on it. You will see it appear at the top right of the screen next to your nameplate.

If none of the icons provided interests you, you can provide your own icon to use. Click on "Custom Icon". When you click on this button, it will give you the information you need about where to put your icon graphic, as well as maximum file size and accepted file formats.

Getting Around

Getting around the Phantom EFX casino is easy. The casino floor is divided into many areas. You can move from area to area by clicking on the door at the edge of any room. Also, in online play, most rooms have an Information kiosk. This can also be accessed by clicking on the Info button on the main game interface.

Information Kiosk

Information kiosks are only available online. The information screen shows you all the important areas of the casino and allows you to access them easily.  Here are some of the areas you will find on the Information kiosk.

Gaming Floors - Each floor represents a different online game.  Click each one, and if you have that game installed, it will take you to that floor.

Slots Floor 1-Bonus Mania
Casino Floor 1-Vegas Experience
Slots Floor 2-Mystic Forest
Casino Floor 2-High Rollers
Slots Floor 3- Ghost Town
Casino Floor 3- Gold Rush

Download Slot Area - This area contains the free monthly slot downloads for subscribers. These slots will always be available for you to play in this area.  You will never lose them.

Lounge/Guild Hall/Cashier - This area of the casino houses all three of these rooms. The cashier is the place to visit for extra cash, to pay off loans, and to take care of any other cashier related services. (There are also ATMs located in various gaming rooms for quick access to additional funds.) The Lounge is an area designed solely for chatting. With a larger chat box than other rooms in the casino, you can sit back, relax and chat away. The Guild Hall is where you can see all of your guild members and chat only in guild chat.

Hotel Lobby - The hotel lobby is where you go to visit other players' rooms. Simply click on the elevator and you can enter the player's room you wish to visit. Or, you can randomly visit players' rooms that have been unlocked for you.

The Mall - The mall is where you go to buy all kinds of cool things. There are several types of stores, each boasting different items for you to purchase with your online cash and VIP points.

Main Game Interface

When on the gaming floor, you have an interface at the bottom right of your screen. This main interface gives you quick access to a variety of places. These places include your suite, the slot lobby, the table games lobby, the tournament lobby, your game statistics, your email, your personal options, a casino map and the cashier (to get and payback loans).

Lobbies

There are four different lobbies in online play, one each for slots, table games, poker, and tournaments. The lobbies for slots, table games and poker tables have a filter to show all games or just select games. If you click on the button to the left of the filter it toggles you between the three lobbies.  Highlighting any game in the grid will show you exactly who is playing that game. To join a game, highlight the game and click View Table.

The tournament lobby has four different buttons above the grid. Clicking on one of the buttons will display the available tournaments as well as some of the most recently played ones.

To join a tournament, highlight it in the grid then click Enter Tourney. To just view information about a tourney, highlight it then click View Tourney.  You can enter a tournament, then go play anywhere else in the casino and when the tournament starts, you will get a pop up.  Just click the Go Now button and you will be taken to the tourney.  You must click the Go Now within 60 seconds or you will be forfeited.

To get to the Tournament lobby from one of the other lobbies, you either need to go back to the gaming floor and click on the "Tournaments" tab or else type /tournaments into the chat box then hit Enter.  To get back to one of the other lobbies from the Tournament lobby, either g back to the gaming floor or type one of the following commands into the chat box:  /poker or /tablegames

Setting Options

There are a variety of customizable options in Phantom EFX's casino to make game play just right for you. To access your options either click on the "Options" icon on your main interface or else select "Options" from the drop down menu at the top left of your screen. There are five tabs under "Options".

The Table Games tab allows you to toggle dealer animations, victory animations, table color, and true count (in Blackjack) on and off. It also allows you to choose what the backs of your cards will look like.

The Poker tab gives you the option to automatically show your hand rank and to turn on/off the automatic posting of blinds. It also lets you decide whether to "Muck" or "Show" your cards, and lets you change the color of your gaming table.

The Slot tab lets you set the default payout percentage on slot machines (dream world or real world) and also toggle the storyboard music on or off.

These options can also be changed from within each slot machine itself.  However, changing either option from within a slot only changes it for that particular time you play and does not change the default value.

The Chat tab lets you change the font size in the chat window.

The Sound tab lets you adjust the music and sound effects volume level as well as lets you toggle the MP3 player on and off.

Cashier/ATM

Each player name is given a $2,000 bankroll to start, both in real world and dream world money. (If you create two player names, each will be given $2,000.) However, if you run out of money, you may borrow more from the cashier.

Note: Keep in mind that, during online play, Real World money needs to be paid back! Dream World money does not.

If you find yourself in need of funds, go to a cashier for a loan. Your credit limit, the amount of money you are allowed to borrow, depends on your experience level. The more you advance in the game, the higher your credit limit gets.

To get more money, just click the "Additional Funds" button on the Cashier screen. You will notice that the amount loaned will be added to the "Money Owed" box. You will also notice that the "Additional Funds Timer" begins. You can only borrow money every so often. The more money you borrow, the longer you have to wait until you can borrow more. Note: Keep in mind that, during online play, when you borrow money, you gain experience at half the usual rate. Once your loan is paid back, you go back to gaining experience at the normal rate.

To pay back a loan, click on the "Payback Loan" button on the cashier screen. You are given the ability to pay back a loan "in full" or to pay it back partially. Type in the amount of money you want to pay back then click on the way you want to pay it back (either "in full" or "partially"). The amount you use to pay back the cashier will be deducted from your Real World cash.  Dream World cash cannot be used to pay back loans.

Real World vs. Dream World Cash

Dream World cash is what you earn when you play dream world odds on slot machines. (Dream world odds are set higher than real world odds. See Slots Odds/Payouts on page 150 for more details.) Dream World cash is only used to play dream world odds on slots and can also be used to make some purchases in the mall. Dream World cash cannot be used to play table games, bankroll tournaments or payback loans. Only Real World cash can be used for those things.

Real World cash is what you earn during all other game play (i.e., table games, poker, tournaments), including slots played with the "Real World" setting. Real World cash is harder to earn than Dream World cash and so is more valuable in the stores.

Note: Dream World and Real World cash is only part of online play. Offline play uses dream world payouts on slot machines at all times.

Chatting

Chatting with other players is a big part of online game play. You can chat while roaming the gaming floor or while sitting in one of the lobbies. Or, you can sit back and relax in the Lounge and chat there. You can also chat while playing a table game or a slot machine. You can talk openly to anyone in the "room" or you can send private messages to a specific player. This section will cover what you need to know to be able to chat while online.

To chat openly with anyone who is in the same "room" as you , just click your cursor into the chat entry box and begin typing. When you are finished, hit Enter and your message will appear in the display section below the entry box.

Note: A "room" can be a slot machine, a poker table, a table game, or the gaming floor/lobbies. The chat box in each lobby and on the gaming floor are the same and conversations can be made between them. However, someone playing a slot machine or a table game will not see the conversation of those people chatting in the lobby/gaming floor.

Private Messages

To send a private message to another player that only they will see, you need to start your message with /tell playername where "playername" is the name of the person to whom you are sending your private message. For example, if you wanted to send a private message to player JaneD asking her where she is, you would type the following message: /tell JaneD Where are you?. After you hit Enter you will see your private message appear in the chat box in orange and it will show that you "told" so and so whatever it was that you typed. The orange color and the "told" are keys that you sent (or were sent) a private message.

To reply to a private message, so that only the person who sent it to you will see it, you just start your reply message with either /reply or for short, /r then follow it with your message. For example, /r I'm in Graverobber.

Private messages are a good way to have a conversation with someone who is not in the same room as you. If you try to send a private message to someone who is not online, the server will let you know that the player is not online.

Filtering Chat

You can toggle the chat filter on and off by typing /filter in the chat entry box. A message will display telling you whether the filter is turned on or off.  The filter bleeps out words it deems inappropriate.

"Ignoring" Players Chat

If there are players whose comments you never want to see, you can tell the system to "ignore" them. If you "ignore" a player, you will never see anything they type into the chat box, not even private messages. To ignore a player, type /ignore followed by the player name into the chat entry box. For example, to ignore JohnDoe, you would type: /ignore JohnDoe into the chat box then hit Enter. You will get a message stating that they player has been added to your "ignore list".

To remove someone from your "ignore list", re-type the same message you typed to ignore them, /ignore plus the player's name. You will get a message telling you that the player has been removed from your "ignore list".

Making "Friends"

When you meet someone you want to be able to find easily each time you are online, you might want to consider adding them to your "Friends" list. This list allows you to quickly see who is or is not online, and where they are if they are online.

Your "Friends" list is viewable from the gaming floor, lobbies, and from within slots and table games. From the gaming floor, just click on the "Friends" tab to see your "Friends" list. From one of the lobbies, click on the title bar above the grid next to the chat box. This grid changes interactively as you click on the title bar. It toggles between your "Friends" list, your "ignore" list, the "Administrator" list and the current "lobby members" list.

Your "Friends" list is color coordinated to help you know what your friends are doing. If a friend is not online the name is shown in gray. If a friend is online and playing a game, the name is shown in green. If a friend is online but not playing a game, the name is shown in white.

You can locate what games your friends are playing by filtering the table games, slots and poker tables to show only those where your friends are currently playing. Just go to a specific lobby (either slots, table games or poker), then from the "Filter Games" drop down box select "Friends' Games". Only those games your friends are playing will appear in the game grid. If more than one game is listed, highlight a particular game to see which friend is currently there. Your friend's name will appear in the Player name grid to the right of the game grid.

To add someone to (or delete someone from) your "Friends" list, type /friend followed by the player name into the chat entry box, for example, /friend JaneD. In the previous example, if JaneD was not already on your "Friends" list, she would be added. If she was already on it, that command would remove her from it.

Note: There is currently a limit of 60 people per "Friends" list.

E-Mail

You can send and receive e-mails within the Phantom EFX casino to other online players. You can access e-mail by clicking on the e-mail link from any of the gaming floors.

To send a new e-mail, open E-mail and click the "New" button. Type in the player name of the person you want to send the e-mail to. Enter a subject and type your message. When you are finished click "Send".

To reply or forward an e-mail, highlight the desired e-mail and click the desired button (either "Reply" or "Forward").

|If you have unread e-mail in your mailbox, you will see envelopes sticking out from behind your icon when you are on the gaming floor.
