RangerEFX

Hi RangerEFX! It's great to get to know you! Thank You for taking the time to let us get to know you a little better :)

When did you become a Pit Boss and what was the driving force behind your decision to become one?

I became a pitboss in January, 2006. My main reason for applying was to add to the PitBoss system someone who was very familiar with table and poker games. At the time, it seemed as though the slot component was getting all the attention.

What has been the most rewarding experience of this position?

The most rewarding experience of this position is being able to help people enjoy this wonderful game even more so than if they were left to muddle through all the complexities of the casino by themselves.

What part of the Country are you from?

I live in the midwest, in the western suburbs of Chicago.

Do you have a favorite game in the Casino? What is it (or they)?

My favorite table game is Crazy Four Poker. If I'm not playing that game, you can usually find me in a poker tourney (any of them, although I favor the Chicago Hi tourneys)

What has been the craziest scenario you have seen in the Casino (that you can tell us about)?

The craziest? Two come to mind...Sunday evening signing in after the server had recovered from a crash. I'm taking over for Airboss (who's been through the crash) and trying to pick up on all the conversations going on and answering the multiple questions that invariably go with a crash recovery. The second craziest is when I'm dealing with multiple private messages while answering general lobby questions, and keeping track of them all while keeping them separate.

Favorite song and band?

I guess my all time favorite song is "Juke Box Hero" by Foreigner followed closely by "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd. My favorite band is Pink Floyd.

How often have you forgotten or mixed up the /g or /r ? Fess up!

I generally don't forget the /g or /r, however, I've done numerous /g's in place of a /r (at least it only shows in guild chat and not in the lobby). I've learned a long time ago (especially if you deal with multiple PM's) that the /r is VERY dangerous. All it takes is an incoming PM to 'steal' your /r and, poof, that reply is off to its unintended recipient. The /tell command is much better to use if you're working with multiple PM's.

Phantom has obviously become a part of your life, would you say that you agree that the "People Factor" is half the attraction of the Casino Experience?

I'd have to say that the 'People Factor' is %90 of the Casino Experience for me. I really enjoy playing the poker tourneys. If it weren't for the 'People Factor' involved with playing them online, I don't think that I would've lasted very long online. Playing poker tourneys against the computer gets boring and repetitive...it's nice pitting your skills against other 'live' players as well as communicating with them.

Personally I think that all the PB's have the patience of a Saint, what would you say is your strongest virtue?

Patience is definitely my strongest virtue, followed closely with being able to communicate with a wide variety of people. I'm always willing to listen and want to help each and every one of you who need assistance (even those of you who don't).

How did you get into online gaming? How did you find out about Phantom?

My first experience with online gaming started with the Prodigy dial-up service. They had a lot of card games that I would play online with other dial-up users. My first Phantom game was Reel Deal Casino Quest. I was intrigued and challenged by having to complete goals (or quests) in order to advance and get to other areas of the game. It was a lot more fun than just trying to win oodles of cash that for the most part was meaningless. From there, I picked up a title called Reel Deal Championship Edition where I first went online with Phantom playing the poker tourneys. Essentially, I got to play poker online with Phantom before International Poker Tour was released.

Have you ever played any online games in the past and if so , what were they?

The only other online game I've played in the past was on The Imagination Network. I specifically joined to play The Shadow of Yserbius, but enjoyed all the areas on INN.

What does your family think about Phantom, do they play as well?

They enjoy Phantom games once in a while, but it isn't their first choice (not due to lack of effort on my part). Nobody in my family has played online.

How do they feel about you being a PitBoss?

For the most part, they're ok with it...they don't understand why I devote as much time as I do, but they understand that this is something that I enjoy doing. I do get the occasional 'rolled eyes' when I tell people on a Sunday that I have to get home so I can do my 'online' thing.

OK, now on to the silly questions, purely for entertainment purposes only..LOL

What's your favorite Ice Cream Flavor?

Absolutely love Cookies and Cream...buy it buy the the gallon buckets.

If you could win a brand new vehicle, what would it be?

It would probably be a Chevrolet Avalanche.

If you could win an all expense paid vacation- where would you choose to go?

I would go to Hawaii. I've travelled across most of the US on family vacations, but I've never made it to Hawaii, yet.

What is or was your favorite cartoon?

As a kid, my favorite was Woody Woodpecker. Currently, it is Spongebob Squarepants.
